Of course I know that very soon you are going to celebrate your birthday very soon. But any way accept my sincere excuses because now I’d like to spoil your positive mood to a certain extent. The matter is that I’m going to tell you about the necessity to prepare for the worst scenarios of our complicated human life. I know that the style of reading lectures to anybody is considered to be boring not only for recipients but for lecturers too. But I have no choice because any way there should be anybody who is to take responsibility to teach this difficult matter. I think you feel what the subject I mean. So I mean various methods to survive under the circumstances of various natural or human – made disasters.
Our human civilization keeps on maintaining its development, so there’ no wonder that on our way to the future we have to stumble on numerous obstacles. These may be a great variety of barriers. For example nature can resist our persistent attempts to conquer it. That’s why almost every day we hear about different natural disasters in various parts of the globe. These disasters can be rather shocking and devastating. In fact they seem to be a sort of warning to all people of the world. May be in such a way the universe tries to hold negotiations with the whole humanity. Certainly I’m not that kind of creature to know what can be in the future for sure.
But besides natural disasters there are a lot of other accidents which are no less scaring to compare with natural ones. To my great regret humans have already learnt to produce their own disasters and suffer from them at the same time. God only knows whether a nuclear power plant is going to explode somewhere or an oil tanker is going to throw tons of dark poisonous substance into the ocean full of innocent wild life.
So I’d like to point out that no matter what is gong to be tomorrow any way you are to be ready for this entirely. By the way earthquakes are considered to be the most widely spread natural disaster in the world. So it’s possible to be prepared for this terrible ground shaking. Just look around being at home. There must be objects in the upper part of all rooms. I mean everything which is above you such as bookshelves and other hanging things. So you should get them to the floor in advance. Otherwise in case of sudden ground shakings they will fall on you and hurt or even bury you completely. It’s not advisable to keep highly flammable materials near any kind of ignitions equipment. Make sure that every member of you family knows how to use a fire extinguisher. And of course you should avoid panic any way.
